Here's the buzz

Hello, out there...
Here's what's new with Candice...

We went camping last weekend.
Got some shootin' on - I have proven to be a good shot at the start of the session, and sloppy after about 10 minutes... I have a short attention span, I guess.

You may notice the lobsteresqe shoulders I've got going on in this picture... oh the sun was-a-beatin' down on us!

Little birdies under the 5th wheel - waiting for some food from mama...

Eating good watermelon on a hot hot day - so nice!

Back home, my studio is turning out to be quite a site - ground zero for Hurricane Candice...

Wade finally put up this awesome picture we got from Jeanna and Russ - It's about the fireplace and I LOVE it!

Falling in love (again) with polaroids - we take pictures of everyone that walks in the door (as you can see, we don't get that many visitors...)

That's about all that's going on - we are going to Long Beach this Saturday to check out some hotels for the wedding - I'll post more pics then.

(oh, and as a side note, my etsy shop is dying... Haven't had a sale in almost a month! I may have to close it down - very sad as I've only been in business for about 6 months, but I guess the feltie craze is over. I suppose I could be doing more ACTIVE things to promote the shop, but in all honesty, I am kind of over it. I'm thinking I'll wait until the listings are going to expire and then have a HUGE sale... we'll see how it goes.)

May 05 - PHOTO HEAVY!

Here is a layout I did recently...

Finally finished my wedding planner...

Lots of dividers - which I love!

This is Wade and I have been doing every night after dinner - sitting out on the front porch (usually there's a fire in the chiminea)...

Went camping a couple of weekends ago...

Goofed around with perspective a bit - I look HUGE!

Went with my mom last weekend to check out venues in Newport Beach. Nothing terribly fantastic in my opinion... next outing will be to check out Long Beach venues...

Some GORGEOUS flowers they had in the lobby of one of the hotels. Gave mom the idea to make something similar for centerpieces... I love love love the colors and the mod-simplicity of the whole thing...

That's about all for now (of course, I've been playing scrabble on facebook like crazy... I'll need an intervention pretty soon...)

Have a great week!

PS. who is the "k" that left me a comment yesterday? identify yourself! Is it you? Or you?

Some pictures - Old and New

Got a new scanner for my birthday - here's an old picture of our small little family back in the day:

This picture was taken about a year into our relationship - he's trying to push me off the cliff...
And here are some new pictures of Otis - he's helping me in my quest to fight perfection. Such a good dog!

Happy New Year

And Happy Belated Festivus (for the rest of us!)

Here's an album I made for my friend Laela for Christmas: (sorry the pics are so small - I plan on uploading them on my SIS account soon, so you can see them there if you like)

I was asked to sponsor the CHIT CHAT CHALLENGE and gave away these goodies from my ETSY shop:

And here are some pics from our camping trip to Aguanga:

And here is how I spent my New Year's Eve:

Rainy Day Dawgs

It's raining today... first rain in a while. This means the puppies get to be inside for a change: Bailey on the floor, Otis on the couch (don't tell Wade!) and Clemmie in her big-girl chair. When Clem came in from the backyard this afternoon she was SHIVERING like a... what shivers... well, whatever, she was shivering... so I took one of my old college sweatshirts out and put it on her. Now she is warm AND supporting the Tritons!!!

Look how ADORABLE she is with her new hoodie!!! Too bad I can't show you what she looks like when she tries to walk - it's UBER cute!!!

Now go check THIS out - a hilarious blog post from my good friend KAT.

ETSY Update #5

My ETSY shop has been updated with some holiday cheer! Go check it out!

Tonight I plan on SCRAPBOOKING (this is such a momentous occasion, it, like the LANDSCAPING PROJECT, deserves all caps and a bigger and bolder font) I don't think I've done a page in almost 3 months! YIKES!

Here's a little collage to brighten your Thursday.

Back in the US of A

Okay, I've been back from Germany for a week now... sorry to those of you who have been waiting patiently for my return (Jen, I know you missed me!!!)

It was DEFINITELY autumn in Germany - I had never seen so many beautiful trees and so much autumn goodness everywhere you turn! (I grew up in Southern California, so the only way I know it's fall is when school starts up again and Halloween decorations show up at Target!)

We traveled A LOT within Germany - We started in Frankfurt, which is known for their apfelwein (apple wine) which is tangy and good. Then we went to Koln which is right by the Rhein River. Then to Berlin to see the site of the Berlin Wall (Kat, I know you are thinking of CHARADES right now!) and do some shopping!

In Munich (Munchen) we spent most of the morning at the "Farmer's Market" - green olives with cheese shoved in them... so good. Then at last we ended up in Heidelberg to see the castles!

It was tons of fun (although traveling with FOUR senior citizens can be a bit... trying...) but I am SO glad to be home!

In other news...
While I was gone, Wade started on our landscaping project at the house - we have no driveway, our backyard is filled with dirt and the house is a wreck... it's great! We'll finally have a backyard that people can hang out in, and a front yard for the dogs!

And last but not least, I was tagged by RENEE, so here goes!

1. If you could have $100 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?

Only $100? I'd have to go with embellishments because I already have tons of cardstock and I don't know how to artistically use patterned paper.

2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or rub-ons which would you choose?

This sounds like a dirty question... I chose rub-ons - they're cleaner.

3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts, but could only do one for a year which would you do?

What do you mean, "IF you knew..." - Layouts for sure.

4. Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home (can't have both, lol)

My own room - there's always ETSY to sell my goodies!

5. And then last but not least, what is your current scrapping style?

Non-existent? I haven't done a layout in MONTHS!!! I don't think I really have a style - my tastes change SO much!

Have a great week!!!

Happy Weekend!

A layout I did in about 3 seconds...

A picture I took a couple of months ago and just found again on my memory card.

Right now I am really stoked on how well my ETSY shop is doing. I didn't really think anyone would want any of my felties, but as it turns out, I have already sold over 30 items! I told my mom about my shop, thinking for sure she would say something like, "Why are you wasting your time with this crap?" but she was TOTALLY into it! Little surprises...
But now I spend all of my artsy fartsy time making felties! I almost forgot why I started making them in the first place... uh, scrapbooking anyone? I was so shocked that it has been almost an entire MONTH since I've scrapped anything that I just had to bust out a layout! (see above for my lightening speed creation!)
Hopefully this weekend I can get some more layouts done.

Have a great weekend!

ps. One of the first Scrappy Friends I made when I started this blog is Renee, and I do believe she is going through a difficult time in her life right now - her Mom is sick and in the hospital, so go to her blog HERE and leave her a little note if you know her, and if you don't know her, read her blog and then get to know her and then leave her a note. Think good thoughts, everyone!

Back To Work

Hello!!!

What a busy couple of weeks I have had! We returned home from San Francisco last week. The weather was PERFECT and us girls had tons of fun! Here's a picture of me and Mihaela in front of the Oakland Bay Bridge:

When I got home I had a lovely surprise waiting for me. Jen sent me a layout she did of me and Wade in Brooklyn. It turned out so lovely!!! Here it is:

You can see the layout I did for her HERE on her blog.

In other, not so exciting news, I started work yesterday. I took a picture of myself to commemorate the end of a much needed summer break.

...but it's back to the factory for me. There are tons of new (younger) faces at the college and already I have received a bunch of calls looking for private tutoring this semester. I'm really going to try to keep my schedule light this year (8 hours a day instead of the usual 12!) because last year was WAY too crazy for me! I'm getting old and need my sleep!

Also, keep a lookout for my ETSY shop which hopefully will open by this weekend. I'll be sure to keep you all posted (for those of you who care!). I've been making some new goodies - I hope that you guys will like them!

Drop me a line here to say hello!

It's Been A Great Day (and it's not even over yet!)

I'm having such a good time today!

I have been on Elsie's Blog non-stop (she's having a blog party!)

I submitted my Kristina Contes Lift on ScrapJacked and I didn't win the contest, but I did get put on their "favorites" slide, which to me is SO SO SO exciting!!!

I've been taking TONS of pictures, but since I am too lazy to leave the house, they're all pictures of myself and Otis...
